Taking a Break in the Tour Van

July 12th, 2007

Titleist ambassador Michael Sim, who we recently caught up with during a practice round with fellow Australian Stephen Leaney, stopped by the Titleist Tour Van this week to get his clubs re-gripped. A lot of players like to wait around while their clubs get worked on, in part because of the nice lounge area we have in the Van. While we visited with Michael, he was able to use the computer in the lounge to check some email and see how his beloved Kangaroos were fairing in the Australian Football League.

I am currently 20 years of age. I am extremely keen on custom fitting and the many varying aspects it involves. I have learned many of the basics (such as shaft changing) in the golf shop I currently work in. Is there any course I can take to broaden my knowledge or anywhere I can be taken on for work experience to hopefully one day work in a tour van? I live in Ireland. Thanks.

There are several golf academies in the United States that prepare students for various positions within the golf industry. We recommend consulting with a PGA professional to discuss your options locally.

I love Michael Sim! I saw him on the Nationwide Tour and he was so nice. Thanks for showing these new up and coming guys - keep it up!

Do the Tour pros have all of their wedges the same length (i.e., PW, SW, LW)?

Few, if any, Tour pros have all of their wedges the same length.

Is there ever going to be a section of the Tour Blog devoted to the European Tour? Great job by the way!

We’re working with our Tour Representatives on the European Tour to increase their coverage. Thanks for your patience.
