After he won the Masters Tournament in early April, we ran a listing of the Titleist equipment in Zach Johnson’s bag. To commemorate his victory over the weekend at the AT&T Classic in Atlanta, we’ve posted that listing again. Zach topped fellow Titleist ambassador Ryuji Imada in a sudden death playoff to capture the title after both players posted 15-under 273 four-round totals. Ryuji’s Titleist equipment is listed below as well.

Zach Johnson, 2007 AT&T Classic champion.

Ryuji Imada, 2007 AT&T Classic runner-up.

A comment came in last week that Tour players must be like kids in a candy shop with all of the equipment at their disposal each week. While it’s true that the guys on Tour can get their hands on pretty much any piece of equipment they want (within the confines of any applicable equipment contracts), there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, playing golf is how these guys make a living, so they tend to stick with equipment they trust and aren’t looking to make significant changes from week-to-week. Second, as the best players in the world, our Titleist ambassadors perform a significant function for the company by performance-validating the prototype products we develop for potential introduction to golf shops. We’re happy to let them try out any and all new products they ask for!

Check out a great interview with Steve Pelisek, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Sales & Marketing, conducted by Erik Barzeski and his crew at TheSandTrap.com. The interview focuses on the introduction of the new Titleist 907D1 and 907D2 drivers, and Steve compares and contrasts the features and benefits of the two, as well as explains their differences in relation to the very successful 905R. The interview lasts about 13 minutes and starts six minutes into the podcast.
