March Madness On Tour
March 20th, 2007
Titleist Tour Representative Rick Nelson was working the range this morning when Adam Scott flashed his UNLV headcover and the conversation quickly turned to the NCAA Basketball Tournament. “Still runnin’, baby,” said Scott, who attended UNLV for a year before turning professional in 2000. Nelson, who attended Southern Illinois University before being drafted in baseball, responded by praising the success of his Salukis, when he found he was outnumbered. Joining Scott in the banter was his swing coach, Butch Harmon, who lives in Las Vegas, and Charley Hoffman, a 2000 UNLV graduate who happened to be practicing next to ex-teammate Scott.
It will be interesting to see if any have bragging rights come this weekend. Southern Illinois faces top-seed Kansas on Thursday, while the Runnin’ Rebels play PAC-10 Tournament champion Oregon on Friday.

Wonderful job on the blog! Well, I wonder if there is any indication whether Adam Scott will replace his 2-iron after using the 19° 585.H? Thanks!
Adam did remove the 2-iron from his bag at last week’s WGC-CA Championship to make room for the 585.H.
I just wanted to thank Titleist for creating this blog. It just shows their committment to the game by connecting touring pros with aspiring amateurs and fans across the world. Adam has a precious bag there… what lofts are Adam using in his hybrids?
Adam put the 19° 585.H with an Aldila VS Proto 95 shaft in play this past week at the WGC-CA Championship.
Does he play an X-flex as well in the Aldila VS Proto 95 shaft in his 585.H?
Yes, Adam plays an X-flex in all of his clubs: VS Proto 80-X in his 907D2, VS Proto 95-X in his PT906F prototype fairway, VS Proto Hybrid 95-X in his 585.H, and True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 in his 695MB irons and Vokey Design wedges.
We don’t currently have any photos of Adam’s particular PT585.H Utility, but it’s pretty much the same as you would find on our website.
I don’t think those links show a picture of his hybrid, just some other pictures of him during a practice round and such. Any chance we can see a photo of the club?
The new Tour Blog is incredible. It puts the viewers and passionate players up front to see what the tour players are using.
There is no doubt that the serious golfers want to hear the feedback from the tour professionals about the new equipment Titleist has created. Great new designs with special consideration to the traditional and classic appearance.
Titleist is truly golf’s symbol of excellence.
As you can see from this picture of Adam’s PT906F prototype, he has switched to the Aldila VS Proto in his fairway as well.
Why did Adam switch from the V2 in his driver? Does he still use the V2 in his 906F4?
Just wondering what length driver Adam uses and if you knew the average length on Tour. Thanks.
Adam has made the switch to the new 907D2 driver with an Aldila VS Proto 80-X shaft. Read more about Adam’s hybrid here.
